There are four main different types of coffee beans:
- Arabica (Coffea arabica)
- Robusta (Coffea canephora)
- Liberica (Coffea liberica)
- Excelsa (Coffea excelsa or Coffea liberica) – Recently re-classified as a member of the Liberica family.
